Police: Woman Sets Fire To Home, Fatally Shoots Herself
Authorities responded to a house fire in Alexander County. It was reportedly set by a woman who shot herself after starting the blaze. On Friday, (July 12) shortly after 2 p.m. Alexander County 911 received a call regarding a victim with a gunshot wound at a house on fire on North Shore Drive in Hickory. The home is in the Oliver’s Landing Development. Individuals in the area saw the smoke and pulled a woman out of the residence.
Suspects Arrested On Drug Charges In Alexander County
36-year old Hannah Loraine Tedder and 64-year-old Lynn Eugene Warren, both of Taylorsville, were arrested Wednesday (July 10) by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. Tedder is charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule IV controlled substance and misdemeanor practicing pharmacy without a license. Warren is charged with felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substance, felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Alexander County Couple Charged With Trafficking Drugs
The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office arrested a couple early Wednesday morning and charged them trafficking drugs. 36-year old Hannah Loraine Tedder of Taylorsville is charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule IV controlled substance and misdemeanor practicing pharmacy without a license. The charges are related to trafficking prescribed medication. She is being held under a $10,000 bond in the Alexander County Detention Center.
Taylorsville Man Arrested For Assault By Pointing Gun
Bradley Eugene Isenhour, age 53 of Taylorsville, was arrested on Wednesday, July 10th by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with asault by pointing a gun. As of earlier today, Isenhour remained in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $1,500. An August 12th court date is scheduled.

Alexander County Deputies Nab Claremont Man After Traffic Stop
As the result of a Monday evening traffic stop, Alexander Deputies arrested a Claremont man. Rickey Lee Bowman, age 51, was stopped on US Highway 64. He was sighted by Deputies throwing objects out of his vehicle before being stopped. Bowman is charged with felony possession of fentanyl, felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of schedule III controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, littering and driving with license revoked. After his arrest, Bowman was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $50,000.
Alexander Central Names Weems As New Volleyball Coach
The Alexander County Board of Education has approved the hire of Jenny Weems as Alexander Central High School Head Volleyball Coach. A former assistant coach at Alexander Central, Weems played Volleyball at the collegiate level for two years at Broward Community College in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Weems has previously coached at Hickory Ridge Middle School, Mount Pleasant High School, and Carolina Courts/PEAK Volleyball.

Wilkesboro Man Facing Alexander County Charges
A Wilkesboro man is facing a series of charges following an Alexander County traffic stop. On the morning of July 5th, Alexander County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested 35-year old Timothy Earl Kenon. He was charged with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession a firearm by a felon, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Kenon was also served warrants from Guilford County for assault on a female and assault by communicating threats.

More Arrests In Alexander County Shooting
On Monday, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office announced some additional arrests in connection with a Eastern Alexander County Shooting. Deputies were called to a location around midnight on June 5th to S Thomas Ln in Stony Point. Officers found a juvenile male injured from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim made statements to the officers at the scene and was transported to a local hospital. The victim was later taken to a regional medical center and has since been released from treatment.
