A pair of local entrepreneurs are bringing Alexandria gamers hungry for a new hangout their next favorite night out. Allen Brooks and Doug Bauer are opening Continues, a fusion of classic arcade games and delicious food, in the neighborhood later this year, reports local media outlet ALXNow .

The concept will be opening at 1050 North Fayette Street, in a renovated warehouse space. Video game fans can look forward to enjoying an impressive array of classic games; Brooks and Bauer are true enthusiasts, committed to sourcing a superior collection. Describing the process, Brooks tells What Now DC : “ We’re buying some and working with local suppliers. This gives us the most flexibility to have the best selection possible.”

Brooks and Bauer have their work cut out for them in making Continues’ space customer-ready, but the duo have assembled the best team for the job. Brooks states “We’re working with an incredible builder, Mark Tiahrt with On the Mark, who has helped us develop an awesome vision for the space. The building owners, the Yates Group, Jeff and Kelly, have been equally awesome in helping us prep and plan the building. It’s a complete new build. The building is basically a concrete and cinderblock shell. This gives us a lot of flexibility and a lot of work to do!”

Bauer and Brooks understand that gaming is a hungry business, and the pair are dedicating the same care to the food that they are to the recreation. Speaking of the menu, Brooks says “We’ll be doing a menu full of great, well made food featuring nostalgic throwbacks to things like the double decker taco, personal pan pizzas and terrific burgers, fries and sandwiches.” The delectable fare won’t be limited to arcade fans; Continues is prepared to feed even those without an appreciation for Mario and Luigi. Brooks states “We’ll also be featuring breakfast at a walk up window for the community and folks getting their cars washed across the street at the Yates Car Wash.”

Brooks explains that Continues wants to make the games as accessible as possible for customers. Guests will be able to play games with: “Quarters only!” Brooks says. “We’re not planning on tokens, cards, or other ways to make it harder for people to get playing. Bring quarters from home, use our change machines, or even order a roll right from the menu!”

Future regulars should begin saving their spare change now, in anticipation of Continues’ autumn opening.
