BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Northern Light Acadia Hospital has received a generous donation in honor of a beloved late civic and community leader. “It’s a special place. Matching grant helps restore historic building
HOLDEN--The historic Holden Town Hall building is getting a much needed upgrade. The two-story building, located on the Main Road in Holden, was built back in the 1870s when bathrooms were not indoors. Now, thanks to a $25,000 matching grant from the Lawrence Family Foundation, a bathroom is finally being added to the historic building and the first floor is also getting insulated.

This past weekend, Bucksport Recreation/YMCA hosted the 3rd annual Down East Showdown in efforts to raise money for youth scholarships and Bucksport youth basketball. There were 16 teams representing 14 schools (two schools entered two teams) from as north as Presque Isle to as south as Portland for a weekend of competitive fun basketball.
