Narcotics Probe in Buffalo Area Leads to Two Arrests, Including Jamestown Man
A Jamestown man is one of two suspects facing charges stemming from a multi-agency investigation into narcotics activity in the Buffalo area. Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael Keane says 43-year-old Lisandro Sanchez (left) was arraigned Tuesday morning on felony counts of 4th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence, plus misdemeanor counts of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, obstruction, and resisting arrest. Sanchez was arrested in Buffalo on Monday after investigators saw 27-year-old Dhakari Allen of Kenmore (right) allegedly conduct a narcotics transaction with Sanchez. Investigators saw a quantity of suspected narcotics, packaged for sale, was observed in plain view on the front seat of Allen's vehicle. Both Allen and Sanchez allegedly fought with officers while being placed under arrest. Allen was arraigned on two counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of 2nd-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, one count of 2nd-degree obstruction and one count of resisting arrest. Both suspects were released on their own recognizance because the charges are non-qualifying for bail. Sanchez faces up to 5 1/2 years in state prison if convicted of the highest charge, while Allen faces up to nine years behind bars.
