JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) - A long-standing barbecue restaurant in Birmingham is closing. In a Facebook post, the owners of Rib-It-Up, located at 830 First Avenue North, announced the eatery's closure after 32 years in business. Owners blame, "...the evolving economic landscape and the challenges we have faced in hiring additional staff."
One killed, one injured in Tuesday morning Montgomery shooting
Montgomery police are investigating an early Tuesday morning shooting that left one man dead and another injured. At about 12:35 a.m., police and fire medics went to the 3200 block of Covered Bridge Road on a report of a person shot, said Maj. Saba Coleman, spokeswoman for the Montgomery Police Department. They found Kavone Mosquera, 20, who had suffered a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead, she said.
