Dozens of seniors seeing health benefits from line dancing classes
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Dozens of seniors are seeing health benefits by taking line dancing classes weekly. Oak Street Health’s Rickwood Field Center hosts line dancing classes every Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. The classes are led by Tracy Williams. She said the group of dancers are not ordinary seniors! She said many of them have lost weight, lowered their cholesterol and have seen their A1C numbers come down. The group has also helped build community.
Birmingham residents question BPD ability to enforce short term rental properties
Many homeowners upset with short term rental properties in their neighborhood addressed the Birmingham Zoning Advisory Committee at Tuesday night's public hearing. They shared stories of the properties near them one woman whose home a neighbors one said, "A lady had a party there for her son and the young man was killed. The Humminbird plant in Eufaula has announced that it launched a renewable energy project as part of an effort to reduce carbon emission in the next 20 years. Humminbird produces marine electronics products that includes fish finders, multifunction displays, autopilots, ice flashers, and cartography products. 17-year-old arrested after vehicle break-ins in Southside
SOUTHSIDE, Ala. (WBRC) - A 17-year-old has been arrested after multiple vehicles were broken into in the Southside community, police say.
