Elizabeth Banks is focused on building a lasting legacy. At 50, she has joined Boston Unity Soccer Partners to announce their new National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) expansion team, BOS Nation. Speaking about her investment, Banks reveals she was once invited to be part of Angel City, a team co-founded by Natalie Portman in Los Angeles, but declined, feeling disconnected from LA despite living there.

However, when Boston, her hometown, made a bid for the NWSL's expansion, it felt right to her. For Banks, it's about contributing to the community that shaped her. She hopes BOS Nation will give back to the Boston area, particularly around White Stadium.

Banks is passionate about promoting women in sports and feels that this aligns with the legacy she wants to leave. She’s excited about supporting female athletes and helping Boston embrace a female-led sports team, aiming to inspire future generations. The team will begin playing in 2026.
