Mattel has introduced a special Día de Muertos Barbie doll, designed by Mexican fashion designer Kris Goyri. This limited-edition Barbie pays tribute to the Mexican Day of the Dead, a celebration of deceased loved ones.

The doll is dressed in a beautiful white gown inspired by the indigenous styles of Oaxaca, decorated with paper-mâché marigold flowers, which symbolize the path to the afterlife. Goyri's design incorporates traditional Mexican craftsmanship, with details like the woven sash representing artisan weaving techniques.

He also hand-crafted the makeup to reflect the iconic "Catrina" figure, a skull symbol central to Día de Muertos.

This collaboration honors both cultural heritage and Barbie's commitment to diversity, showcasing the importance of representation and cultural understanding in the toy industry.
