BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Beloved long time children’s librarian Laura Fuhro is retiring after 49 years, and was honored and had a proclamation read by Mayor Angie Devanney at the July 23 council meeting for her decades of service to the community. Fuhro was hired to work as a children's librarian in Berkeley Heights Public Library on July 1, 1975. The proclamation recognizes that Fuhro has provided children, parents, and caregivers with a welcoming and friendly space to enjoy, and participate in the Public Library's many services and programs. Warren Women Plead Guilty of $1.3 Million School Embezzlement
NEWARK, NJ-- Two Warren women, including a former assistant dean and a former employee of an Essex County graduate school pleaded guilty to defrauding their former employer of more than $1.3 million, U.S. Attorney Philip R. President of Berkshire Furniture, Eric Bernstein Passes
Eric Bernstein, President of Berkshire Furniture, passed away after battling cancer. He was 55 years old. Bernstein’s company, based in Springfield, NJ, is one of New Jersey’s oldest family-owned furniture stores. Originally named Bernstein Furniture, Eric’s great-grandfather Solomon Bernstein opened his first store in 1903. Eric Bernstein joined his father, Lawrence, at Berkshire Furniture in 1991.

Maine Officials Identify 2 People Who Died in Trenton Plane Crash
Officials have identified two people who were killed when their plane crashed near the airport in Trenton. Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says the pilot has been identified as Michael Leibowitz of Charleston, South Carolina, and his passenger as Christina Chung, 57, of Livingston, New Jersey.
