Teen in critical condition after Penn Hills stabbing; suspect apprehended
Allegheny County Police are investigating a stabbing in Penn Hills that left a teenager in critical condition Tuesday afternoon. Police were called about 4:40 p.m. to the 1100 block of Hamil Road, where they located a teenage male who had been stabbed multiple times. Mosquitos in Additional Neighborhoods Positive with West Nile Virus
The Allegheny County Health Department today announced mosquito samples in Highland Park, Homewood, Point Breeze and Wilkinsburg have tested positive for West Nile Virus. In response, the Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) will treat the identified communities with a pesticide called Zenevex E20. It is classified by the EPA as a low-risk insecticide as it is not harmful to humans or pets. Crews will use a truck mounted Ultra Low Volume (ULV) sprayer on Thursday July 24th, from 8 pm to 11 pm, to lower the local mosquito population and minimize the risk of human transmission. Treatment will occur in select areas of the afore mentioned areas.
