RAGBRAI LI begins in southwest Iowa in pleasant summer conditions
GLENWOOD, Iowa — The Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa is now underway, as the 51st installment began in Glenwood along the Missouri River Sunday morning. The 7-day RAGBRAI will take riders on a southerly route across Iowa, making overnight stops in Red Oak, Atlantic, Winterset, Knoxville, Ottumwa, and Mt. Pleasant before arriving in Burlington Saturday to dip their tires in the Mississippi River.

Des Moines Police Investigating City's 11ths Traffic Death This Year
(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines Police Department is investigating the city's eleventh traffic related death of the year. Police say officers responded to the report of the crash a little after 8:30 Saturday night at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Holcomb Avenue. Iowa National Guard unit will return 150 soldiers back from Middle East deployment
