The pint-sized artist from Paintsville, KY is known as “The Young Appalachian Storyteller,” based on her mostly biographical songs about her hearth and home. Beatlemania ‘rocks’ Storybook Trail
The Pikeville Library District has “rocked out” the Storybook Trail with a children’s biography of the hit musical group The Beatles. Maggie Salisbury, with the library district, said the Storybook Trail was created in partnership with the Pikeville City Commission to develop reading skills in young children. INEZ, Ky. — Police have arrested a Martin County man who they say was one of three people responsible for setting fire to a religious display last month. The incident happened June 7 on the God’s Promise Trail in Inez. Police say the trio set fire to a prayer altar on the trail.
