Emporia Police: Aggravated burglary case developed after weekend break-in
Emporia Police officers say a break-in at a local apartment led to aggravated burglary charges against an Emporia man. Officers say they were dispatched to The Villas, 1839 Merchant around 5 am Sunday for a reported burglary in progress. A woman residing at the complex says she woke up and found an unknown male in her apartment. The man allegedly pushed her against a wall and covered her mouth. The woman says she screamed, which got her husband. The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Michael Hourel, ran off.
