BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) – Two local residents have been named in an indictment unsealed last week in federal court in Boston.

Alexander Smalls, 25, and Tre’sean Reid, 21, are among the six individuals charged for their alleged involvement in a sex trafficking conspiracy involving two minors and one adult that spanned three states.

Christy Parker, 26, of Fall River, Mass.; Cory Primo, 42, of Fall River, Mass.; Avvani Jeffers, 22, of Fall River, Mass; and Tyreik Reid, 20, of Allendale, S.C., were also named in the indictment.

The six defendants face charges of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; sex trafficking of a minor; and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking.

According to court filings, in 2023, Parker and Smalls worked together with assistance from the other defendants to get the victims to engage in commercial sex in South Carolina, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Parker allegedly began trafficking the 16- and 17-year-old minors, one who had run away from a group home. He’s accused of using physical violence, starvation, alcohol and marijuana against one of the young victims.

It’s alleged that Parker reached out to the adult victim who was homeless and needed a place to stay. He and Smalls allegedly convinced the victim to quit her job and engage in commercial sex.

Parker and Smalls allegedly coordinated commercial sex acts and took all of the profits.

“The allegations in this case are truly chilling,” said Acting United States Attorney Joshua Levy.

“Sex trafficking is not a distant problem – it is happening right here, in our neighborhoods, and often goes unnoticed or unreported,” he continued.

According to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, Smalls is in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center.

He was the suspect in a 2022 shooting in Beaufort and was taken to custody months later for attempted murder possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and breach of peace, aggravated in nature.
