Cheap Trick with guest Blue Öyster Cult will kick off this year’s Allentown Fair.

The fair announced in a news release Friday that the two rock bands will replace Heart, which was initially scheduled to play the night of Aug. 28 to start this year’s fair.

Heart announced earlier this month that its upcoming concerts would be postponed while lead singer Ann Wilson undergoes cancer treatment. Heart was originally scheduled to perform with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Cheap Trick.

Instead, Cheap Trick, known for songs such as “I Want You to Want Me,” and “Surrender,” will perform with Blue Öyster Cult, known for “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” and “ Burnin’ for You.”

Tickets for Heart will be honored for a rescheduled date, or they may be refunded at the point of purchase.

Tickets for Cheap Trick with Blue Öyster Cult, which are $32 and $52, go on sale 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The Allentown Fair runs Aug. 28 through Sept. 2. More information may be found at allentownfairpa.org/ .
