Friends and family of a Bethlehem man who drowned earlier this week in Allentown are raising funds for his funeral.

Antwan Daring, 35, was tubing with friends about 3 p.m. Monday on the Lehigh River near the 600 block of Waterfront Drive in Allentown. He was recovered by the Allentown Fire Department, and was pronounced dead about 4 p.m.

Earlier this week, his friends and family started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for funeral costs.

His friend wrote that Daring was always there for anyone who needed help and was loved by many people.

“The family and I are grateful for any donations you may be able to provide. Thank you all for the love and support during these hard times,” the post reads in part.

As of Friday afternoon, the GoFundMe raised roughly $5,900 of its $10,000 goal.

Those who wish to donate may do so at gofund.me/00833813 .
