Two hiring events slated for July 30 at NCWorks Career Center
MOREHEAD CITY — The NCWorks Career Center of Carteret County is hosting two hiring events on Tuesday, July 30. The building at 3813 Arendell Street in Morehead City will welcome the Carteret Correctional Center and the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastal Plain. Both events will take place from 2-6 p.m.

WASHINGTON, N.C. (WITN) - Beaufort County United Way is holding an event that gives community members a chance to learn about disaster preparedness measures. The Emergency Edge Expo gives individuals a chance to become educated on preparations to keep themselves and their families safe during emergencies. Atlantic Beach and Morehead City fire departments hailed for teen marsh rescue
Atlantic Beach Fire Department and Morehead City Fire-EMS were given a big thanks for their rescue efforts recently. According to Morehead City Fire-EMS there was a call on Tuesday July 23 regarding three young teens that were trapped in the marsh of Calico Creek. Within minutes all three teens were rescued and returned safely to shore. Morehead City Police Officers also rendered assistance in keeping traffic under control.

Crews from Greenville Fire-Rescue responded to a fire at an automotive shop near Sadie Saulter Pre-K Center early Wednesday morning. Wilson takes down Morehead City 1-0 in rain-shortened game
WILSON, NC – On Tuesday night at Fleming Stadium, the Wilson Tobs hosted the Morehead City Marlins in a game with big time playoff implications for the Tobs. With weather cutting the game shut after five innings of play, it was the Tobs that came out on top 1-0. Wilson native Jacob Dienes got the start for the Tobs, getting off to a rocky start. Dienes had the bases loaded against him in the top of the first frame. Dienes battled out of the self-inflicted trouble and held the Marlins off the scoreboard in the first inning.
