Carnation City Players has announced audition dates for its next show, “9 to 5 The Musical.”

The show will run Oct. 11-13 and Oct. 18-20 at the Firehouse Theater in Alliance.

Auditions will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 5-6 also at the Firehouse Theater, 450 E. Market St.

Those planning to audition should register for a time at carnationcityplayers.org .

They should prepare a 32-bar musical selection in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided – no a cappella. Callbacks will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 7 and will include choreography and readings from the script.

David Sparks-Lee will direct the show, and Kim Lewis will be the music director.

The show is based on the 1980 film starring Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. The music and lyrics were written by Parton. The story follows three unlikely friends – Violet, Judy and Doralee – as they team up to take down their sexist, egotistical boss and transform their workplace.
