    Art gallery to open Saturday in Alliance

    A new art gallery will celebrate its grand opening from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday in downtown Alliance.

    LemonChrystal Artist Sanctuary, at 412 E. Main St., will have an exhibit called Painting with Angels, featuring artwork by 11 innovative artists from around Ohio, featuring imagery of Angelic Beings.

    “This exhibit will examine the concepts of angels in a variety of forms, from traditional and creative viewpoints,” according to a news release. “Featuring projection mapping, paintings, sculptures, and fashion that explores visually the theories, theology, mythology and visual representations of angels.”

    The event also will include a book signing by Faith Rhodes, curated arts vendors, live art demos and live music by JJ Vicars, Back to Eden and The Doctor and The Reverend. A food truck also will be on site, DT at Balls Weiner’s N Buns Gourmet Hot Dogs.

    Artists expected to participate include Gadi Zamir of Cleveland; Stephanie Anne Lambert of Alliance; Chrystal Robinson of Salem; Lennon Strain of Beloit; Caryl Lynn Young of Columbus; Julia and Chris Bentley of Carrollton; Zach Finn of Canton; Suzy LeeLo of Akron; Susan Burns of East Liverpool; Andy Hopp of Akron; and Allie Spurrier of Canton.

    The event schedule:

    2 p.m. – Book signing with Faye Rhodes-Mental Health Awareness Poetry

    3 p.m. – Ribbon Cutting with Alliance Chamber

    3 p.m. – Art demos

    4 p.m. – Back to Eden

    4 p.m. – Live art Mural Creation with Lennon and Chrystal

    6 p.m. – JJ Vicars Duo The Doctor and The reverend

    6 p.m. – live projection arts show
