Heavy rain on Saturday made way for a sunny evening for the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival. Two early events on the festival’s third day were washed out – the Auto Show at Glamorgan Castle and the Pedal Tractor Pull at University of Mount Union. The auto show actually did get underway, but rain that started mid-morning increased in intensity, causing many of vehicle owners to stay away. Festival organizers initially said the events would carry on, but changed course as the weather worsened in the morning. The Food Fest’s final day picked up as the clouds parted later in the day. Two festival events went forward as scheduled Saturday – the Community Luncheon, which featured Levi Lamborn’s great-great nephew as its keynote speaker; and the Friends of Rodman Public Library Used Book Sale. The book sale will continue daily at Alliance Commons through Wednesday. Find information at this shortened link, shorturl.at/kmOEq . See coverage of the Community Luncheon at the-review.com and in Tuesday’s edition of The Alliance Review.
