Victim ID’d after body found in Savannah River
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A week after a body was found in the Savannah River, positive identification has been made. The Richmond County Coroner’s Office says 38-year-old Jermaine Pate from Georgiana, Ala. was identified as the victim. Pate’s body was found in the Savannah River early July 19.
75-Year-Old Townsend Man Shot by Deputies After Suicide Threat
At the request of the McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office, agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) are conducting an investigation into an officer-involved shooting in Townsend, McIntosh County, Georgia. The incident involved 75-year-old Allen Barrett of Townsend, who was shot and injured. No deputies were harmed during the event.

The Humane Society of Statesboro Bulloch County (HSSBC) and Fixing the Boro were recently awarded a grant from the Georgia Department of Agriculture in the total of $40,000 for Bulloch County. Each grant was awarded separately, with HSSBC receiving $25,000 and Fixing the Boro receiving $15,000.
