Demo of vacant residence halls begin next week on UNK campus
KEARNEY, Neb. (PRESS RELEASE) - Demolition of two vacant residence halls on the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus is scheduled to begin next week. National Concrete Cutting Inc. will start work July 8 at the site of University Residence North (URN) and University Residence South (URS) on UNK’s west campus. The project is expected to continue into November.
Convict going to prison for 2023 Kearney assaults
KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - A judge sentenced a man to prison Tuesday for 11 crimes related to assaults in 2023. Brian Reeves, 40, was convicted in May for 11 crimes, including attempted used of a deadly weapon, 3rd degree domestic assault, strangulation, two counts of terroristic threats, two counts of false imprisonment, two counts of violating a protection order, one count of witness tampering and one count of misdemeanor third degree assault.

KEARNEY, Neb. (PRESS RELEASE) - Kearney Public Schools is making sure students are fed with the announcement of free meals for four schools within the district. KPS announced that starting this school year, students at Bryant, Central, Emerson Elementary Schools, and Bright Futures Preschool will receive free breakfast and lunch for the next four years.
