Lightning storm causes several fires in Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests
KAMIAH, Idaho – A large lightning storm in northern Idaho started 12 fires across the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests on Wednesday. According to the US Forest Service, the fires have drawn firefighters from four different fire districts, and crews are still looking for additional fires. While no structures are threatened, air quality has decreased throughout the forest system.
