Stanley County Stumbles in Opening Game Loss
The Hill City Rangers would make a statement in the first game of the season on Friday night as they would beat the Stanley County Buffaloes 48-6. The Rangers would build a 35-0 lead at halftime enabling the running clock all second half. Stanley County had to deal with several injuries in the game including quarterback Paxton Deal. Eddie Duffy replaced Deal early in the second quarter.

Dangerous heat and storms possible today
Dangerous weather is possible throughout today and tonight in southeastern South Dakota. Hot and humid conditions continue today, with heat index values ranging from around 88 in Brookings, to 96 in Madison, and as high as 112 degrees in Storm Lake Iowa. The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says these are dangerous conditions, even for healthy populations. They add heat and humidity and can sneak up on you, and encourage everyone to take precautions and stay safe.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s department was called to a residence where a woman and her son observed a man – allegedly 28 year old Tristan Roetzel – walking into their garage and taking their car. Trojans win first home volleyball match of the season
DSU Volleyball started their home schedule on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Dakota Wesleyan at the DSU Fieldhouse. The Trojans’ took the first two sets 25-19, 25-20, before losing the third set 26-24. DSU then rolled to a 25-15 win in the fourth set to seal the win.
