Electrical fire likely cause of house fire that killed elderly couple, says sheriff
LE SUEUR COUNTY, Minn. — The Le Sueur County Sheriff says an "electrical component" likely caused a house fire that killed an elderly couple last Sunday. The Montgomery Fire Department was one of four departments that responded to a 911 call at nearly 1 a.m. and discovered Betty, 73, and Roman Jindra, 76, dead in their kitchen. The sheriff says Betty had called to say the couple was trapped inside.

Fosters needed after Minneapolis shelter responds to hoarding cases
MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis Animal Care and Control (MACC) is looking for people willing to foster cats or dogs — and these animals' lives depend on it. The Facebook group Friends of MACC posted that the organization impounded 25 cats in a single day in July and anticipates adding another 16 cats due to hoarding cases.
