Tech’s LGBTQIA+ Resource Center supports Atlanta’s Pride Month Festivities
Pride month celebrations commenced in Atlanta, this past June, marking 54 years since the first celebrations. The month-long observance started in June of 1970, commemorating the first anniversary of the violent police raid at Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in New York. The raid resulted in 14 being arrested and several injured, sparking an international movement for the LGBTQIA+ community and allies who called for equal rights and visibility.

Braves lose another key starter to long-term injury
The major injuries keep on coming for the Atlanta Braves.The team announced on Sunday evening that second baseman Ozzie Albies suffered a fractured wrist in its 6-2 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals and that he is expected to miss at least eight weeks. Homeowner’s grandson “intentionally” sets home on fire, neighbor detains him until police arrive
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Investigators have determined that a house fire in Gwinnett County was “intentionally” set by the homeowner’s grandson. Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a call from a neighbor about a fire on Iron Gate Court in Lawrenceville on Saturday night just before 9 p.m. The caller said smoke was coming from the outside of the home. The neighbor told authorities that the grandson of the homeowner tried to burn the house down. Firefighters arrived at the scene to find a well-involved fire in the garage which appeared to have spread to the back of the home. All three adults inside the home made it out.
