Bill Monroe’s Historic $12 Million Tennessee Estate for Sale — See Inside! [Pictures]
The stunning Tennessee estate that belonged to country music icon Bill Monroe is currently for sale, and the buyer will be getting a piece of history. Bluegrass Today reports that the pioneering bluegrass legend's 244-acre estate in the affluent Nashville suburb of Goodlettsville, Tenn., is currently for sale. The massive property is listed for $12 million.
Algood, Cookeville PDs Receive New Radios
The Algood and Cookeville Police Departments received new radio equipment that will allow for clearer, more reliable communication. Algood Police Department IT Director David Corley said the new portable and mobile radios have improved flexibility, sound quality, and coverage area. Corley said the upgrades were completely covered by the state’s Violent Crime Intervention Fund.

Fire Chief: Water Rescues Pose Multiple Dangers
As many as a dozen water rescues performed this week in Cookeville’s Willow Avenue corridor when flood waters stalled cars. Cookeville Fire Chief Benton Young said they have personal flotation devices, rafts, and other tools that firefighters can use to navigate in the water. Young said floodwaters can be very dangerous.
Drug trafficker with operations in Maury, Lewis counties sentenced to 70 months in prison
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A drug trafficker from Texas was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison for an operation that spanned both Maury and Lewis Counties. Julio Esparza was charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana. He plead guilty in 2022.
