Why custom has accentuated their homeliness and prominence by coating them with silver or bronze paint no one knows, but it is high time this practice stopped. The use of such paints seriously reduces heating efficiency. Repaint them to harmonize with room color schemes before starting the heating system.

In what was nothing short of a 'shocking' report--we are now learning that in about 24-hours, Idaho experience nearly 3,000 individual lightning strikes over the gem state. Each summer in the Treasure Valley, we know exactly what to expect. Things start off slow, and then we wake up one day to scorching heat. That heat will stick around for a few days, and then things will cool off a bit. When they cool off, we get a thunderstorm and then said thunderstorm takes over social media for 24-hours, at least.

Governor Mark Gordon has ordered the Wyoming State Flag be flown at half staff at the Capitol in Cheyenne and in Laramie County from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday, July 31 in honor and memory of Gus Fleischli. Mr. Fleischli represented Laramie County in the Wyoming Senate from 1953-1955 and served three terms in the Wyoming House of Representatives. He passed away July 21, 2024. JHMR’s Rendezvous Mountain Hill Climb returns Aug. 3
TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — The most demanding hill climb running event in the West is on again for 2024!. The Rendezvous Mountain Hill Climb will start at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, up the Wildflower Trail to Rendezvous Lodge, continuing onto the Cirque Trail and then finishing at the summit of the Aerial Tram at the top of Rendezvous Bowl. This non-profit annual race is run in honor of friend and longtime JHMR Aerial Tram mechanic Chris Onufer (Captain “X”), who on March 7, 2012, tragically passed away in an avalanche.
Bighorn Canyon guided kayak program dates announced
The Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area is again offering guided kayak programs on Big Horn Lake. Programs will be held on the south district of the lake near Lovell. The programs cover proper paddling techniques, self-recovery of a capsized kayak, general safety precautions and fun facts about Bighorn Canyon presented by park rangers.
UPDATE: Man Suspected of Robbing 2 Cheyenne Banks Now in Custody
Cheyenne police are on the hunt for a man believed to be behind two bank robberies in Cheyenne Thursday afternoon. According to a department Facebook post, the man pictured above is suspected of robbing the Jonah Bank of Wyoming at 205 Storey Blvd. and the Western Vista Federal Credit Union at 3207 Sparks Rd.

The only part of the schedule left for Wyoming Legion Baseball programs is the postseason. The state tournaments for the top two levels start on Saturday and Monday, respectively. Ed Lynn Memorial Field in Powell is the A State Championship Baseball Tournament site. Mike Lansing Field in Casper will host the AA State Championship Baseball Tournament. The latest standings include all games played through July 24, 2024.
