Perry Farrell opens up on his touring career

In a recent interview with Esquire , as part of their ‘What I’ve Learned’ series, Farrell revealed how long he wants to be a touring musician. He said:

“Until I die. But I can adjust it now at my age. I demand a day off to heal. The voice is a very fragile instrument. Once it swells, there’s nothing you can do about it.”

This year, Jane’s Addiction reunited for the first time in 34 years and they released the new single “Imminent Redemption” and embarked on an extensive tour. However, the reunion has been marred with a controversial incident.

On Friday, September 13, during a performance in Boston, Farrell experienced an onstage meltdown during the song “Ocean Size.” The singer was involved in a physical altercation with lead guitarist Dave Navarro. This led to the band cutting performance short as Farrell had to be restrained by the crew and other members. Days later, Farrell issued a public apology to his bandmates , fans, and family.

He also specifically addressed Navarro in the apology, acknowledging his behavior and taking responsibility for the incident. The band later announced that the remainder of the tour would be canceled, leaving fans wondering what’s next for Jane’s Addiction.
