Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of late Nirvana legend Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, welcomed her first baby with husband Riley Hawk, who is the son of skateboarder Tony Hawk).

In a surprise announcement on social media , she revealed that Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk was born last week on September 17th. Frances wrote the following on Instagram, “Welcome to the world most beautiful son. We love you more than anything.”

Frances shared black-and-white photos of the newborn snuggled up in a blanket and of her holding his little fingers. The visual artist also shared a snap of Riley, lovingly gazing at the baby as he held him in his arms.

Tony was delighted over the new addition to his family in the comments section of the post, writing that Ronin was his “favorite grandson.”

“Ahhhh! Congrats!!!!” wrote Zelda Williams, daughter of the late actor Robin Williams.

Harper Grohl, daughter of Kurt’s former Nirvana bandmate Dave Grohl, simply commented with heart and teary-eyed emojis to congratulate the pair, while comedian Kate Micucci wrote: “Welcome sweet Ronin! We love you! .”

The infant comes less than a year after Frances and the professional skateboarder tied the knot. The duo had tied the knot on October 7th last year, a month after obtaining a marriage license in San Diego.

Frances’ godfather, R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe, allegedly officiated the ceremony. The model and Riley are believed to have begun dating in early 2021. However, the couple did not go public with their romance until the following year.

Fans got a sneak peek of the wedding celebrations in an Instagram tribute shared by Tony, in honor of his son’s 31st birthday in late 2023. The post included a photo from the wedding, along with a brief mention of the nuptials
