David Lee Roth Responds To Alex Van Halen Attack

David Lee Roth recently broke his silence on social media as Alex Van Halen accused him of ruining the tribute to Eddie Van Halen.

The singer shared a video called ‘LA River Yacht Club’ without giving any explanation on YouTube. He also posted the same video on his official Instagram account .

David Lee Roth posted the video right after Alex Van Halen’s interview with Rolling Stone was released. It’s the first video he released in the last two months.

“Alex interview in Rolling Stone wasn’t to good on ya Dave,” a fan wrote in the comments.

“The Alex interview was really surprising to me. Dave and Alex sound like friends. Lots of mutual respect. And Alex disliked the Hagar years so YAY!” another one said. “Dave is the man —why is Alex Van Halen saying Dave dismantled the vh tribute to Eddie? Why would he do that?” one other person commented.

Van Halen planned a reunion tour after Eddie Van Halen passed away. However, Roth ruined the plans, according to Alex Van Halen. “The thing that broke the camel’s back, and I can be honest about this now, was I said, ‘Dave, at some point, we have to have a very overt — not a bowing — but an acknowledgement of Ed in the gig. If you look at how Queen does it, they show old footage,’” Alex said.

“And the moment I said we gotta acknowledge Ed, Dave f*cking popped a fuse… The vitriol that came out was unbelievable. I’m from the street. ‘You talk to me like that, motherf*cker, I’m gonna beat your f*cking brains out. You got it,” the drummer added.

He continued, “And I mean that. And that’s how it ended. It’s just, my God. It’s like I didn’t know him anymore. I have nothing but the utmost respect for his work ethic and all that. But, Dave, you gotta work as a community, motherf*cker. It’s not you alone anymore.”

Van Halen’s last tour was in 2015, featuring Alex, Roth, Eddie, and Eddie’s son, Wolfgang Van Halen, on bass. They performed in almost 40 cities across North America over several months.
