    Bond set for Alton teen in drug deal shooting

    ALTON, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — Two Alton teenage boys are facing charges after a drug deal turned violent, according to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office.

    Deputies responded to the 1300 block of Kansas Street in Alton on Sunday in reference to a 15-year-old with leg injuries and a vehicle with multiple bullet holes.

    The driver of the vehicle, 17-year-old Jesse James Reyna, was detained at the scene.

    According to investigators, Reyna claims he had met the 15-year-old to sell him drugs, but the juvenile attempted to rob him with a handgun.

    Reyna admitted to using his vehicle to strike the 15-year-old as the juvenile shot at his car, according to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office.

    Reyna claimed ownership of the drugs recovered at the scene.

    He was formally charged Tuesday morning with Aggravated Assault, Possession of Marijuana, and Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

    Reyna was issued a total bond amount of $57,000 on all three counts and remains the Hidalgo County Jail.

    The unidentified 15-year-old was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and will be facing criminal charges for his involvement in the shooting.
