    African American Heritage Festival returning to Altoona

    BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Blair County African American Heritage Festival (AAHF) is set for this weekend and they’ve bringing food vendors, a free kids corner and cultural activities to Downtown Altoona.

    The festival is set to take place on Saturday, July 27, and Sunday, July 28 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Parking is available at the Altoona Transportation Center Parking Garage, Penn State’s “yellow” and “red” lots (1400 block of 12th and 13th Avenue) and the parking lot across from the Center City Church. Parking is first-come first-serve so you’re advised to get there early.

    Chalk festival returning to Somerset County for 8th year

    The festival is free to attend and there are a plethora of things for those of all ages to enjoy. There will be a kid’s corner that features a bounce house and activities all day long. This year there will also be several “Little Entrepreneur” vendors. Each one with something for sale that they’ve made. Learn more about those entrepreneurs here .

    Saturday, July 27

    • DJ Zay Brick (3:15 p.m.)
    • Local showcase (4:30 p.m.)
    • Ibeji Drum ensemble (5:45 p.m.)
    • Innocent Sin (6:45 p.m.)

    Sunday, July 28

    • DJ Zay Brick (2 p.m.)
    • The Pennsoulvanians (3:15 p.m.)
    • Appalachian Soul Man (4:45 p.m.)
    • Smooth Sound Band (6:45 p.m.)

    There will also be over 50 vendors and a variety of food trucks at the festival.
