Blachly School Superintendent on administrative leave amidst ethics investigation
A rural school district in northwest Lane County has put its superintendent on administrative leave. The move comes amidst a state ethics investigation. In early August, the Oregon Government Ethics Commission authorized an investigation into Blachly Superintendent Adam Watkins. He was accused of creating an online school counselor job for his wife - a conflict of interest.

Willamette High School unveils new career and technical education building
EUGENE, Ore. – A new career and technical education building has been unveiled at Willamette High School in Eugene. A ribbon cutting was held on Thursday morning which followed a bond measure approved for the project in November 2020. The Bethel School District said $99.3 million dollars were approved with 66% of the vote. Construction began in 2023 and, fast-forwarding to the present, classes at the new CTE building are already filled up and slated to start on September 10.
