    Author Q&A

What inspired you to write your first book?

I was inspired to create something I would've loved as a kid. Most alphabet books aren't morbid, and I wanted to change that, making something for the curious, darker-minded kids out there.

How much of the book is realistic?

The words and definitions are real and accurate, but the illustrations bring a playful touch to balance the morbidity.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?

The biggest challenge was finding fitting words for X, Y, and Z that matched the book's theme.

Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?

I discovered that I had to write my own definitions to avoid copyright issues, which was an interesting challenge.

Do you see writing as a career?

While it's not my only career, writing is a significant part of my creative expression, and I have huge respect for those who write full-time.

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Persistence is key. The journey is filled with ups and downs, but don't give up.

What is your favorite genre to read, and why?

I love fantasy for its ability to transport us to incredible worlds filled with dragons, fairies, and magic.

What is your favorite time to write, and why?

I find 3:00 A.M. to be magically creative. It's quiet, and ideas just flow.

For your own reading, do you prefer ebooks or traditional paperback books?

I have a soft spot for traditional paperbacks. There's something magical about physically turning the pages.

Do you feel like you’d be a better writer if you wore sparkly socks during your writing sessions?

The concept of sparkly socks boosting creativity is fun. I haven't tried it, but it's an interesting idea!
