    Author Q&A

How did you come up with the title?

I wanted the title to convey the content. The Core Three Principles for Personal Empowerment really did that because that’s exactly what readers get in the pages. Three core principles and three key strategies to build each of them up.

Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

This entire book is written from my personal experiences and perspective as a husband, father, brother, son, and law enforcement officer.

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

I wouldn’t change anything because the information contained in the pages of Core Three just streamed out of my mind into the book and I want to deliver it raw and real just as it is.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?

The hardest part of writing my book was not writing too much. Keeping it simple. I like to keep things simple, but I tend to over explain things like I just did answering this question. hahaha

Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?

I learned that I had something to offer to the world that may be able to help others in the form of a book that they can refer back to again and again.

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Just do it. If you have an idea for a book, start writing. Don’t think it has to be perfect. Just pull out a pen and paper or open Microsoft word and start typing whatever comes to your mind about your desired topic. Go back later to format and fix it up.

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

I may not know you personally, but I know that you deserve to live the life that you imagine in your dreams. I know that you are worthwhile and have something very special and important to offer to the world.

What is your favorite movie and why?

I love Interstellar. I believe the movie was (and still is) ahead of its time with many truths of human existence weaved into the story.

What does being a successful author look like to you?

Being a successful author to me looks like being able to make a living from my writing by adding value to the lives of the people who read my books. Yes, I want to sell books but I must add value while doing it or what’s the point.

What is your favorite time to write, and why?

This may sound strange but I feel that I write better when I am a bit stressed. It helps me to get my thoughts and feelings out and onto the pages. It’s very calming and helps me get back to center.
