TxDOT road work includes ramp closures around I-40, I-27, US 287 connections

Officials from the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) released information on various lane closures and updates due to ongoing projects :

Monday, August 26

Expect various lane closures on FM 2381 from I-40 to just north of Bushland High School as crews perform maintenance operations. The work is expected to be completed by Wednesday, Aug. 28.

Crews will close the right lane of northbound I-27 near mile marker 112 to the McCormick Road exit for continued work on the I-27 widening project between Amarillo and Canyon. The work will take place nightly, beginning at 7 p.m. and ending at 6 a.m. The following exit/entrance ramps will be closed during this time:

• Entrance ramp north of Rockwell Road
• Exit ramp 112 (Exit to FM 221)
• Entrance ramp just north of FM 2219

The work is expected to be completed by Wednesday, Aug. 28.

Throughout the week

Expect various lane closures in both directions of I-40 at BNSF Railyard as crews continue to perform bridgework. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, Aug. 30. The following entrance and exit ramps will be closed intermittently during this time:

• Southbound US 287 to eastbound I-40 entrance ramp
• Northbound I-27 to eastbound I-40 entrance ramp
• Westbound I-40 to northbound US 287 exit ramp
• Westbound I-40 to southbound I-27 exit ramp
• Southbound US 287 to westbound I-40 entrance ramp

The Crockett Street bridges in both directions of I-40 will be reduced to two lanes as crews begin replacing the bridge deck. The work is expected to be completed in early 2025.

Expect various lane closures on the east and westbound frontage roads near Hope Road and I-40 on Monday, Aug. 26 and Tuesday, Aug. 27 for concrete barrier installation. Once completed, crews will switch over to the I-40 main lanes. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, Aug. 30.

Please drive with caution and reduce speed through all work zones. All projects are subject to change due to weather, emergency work and other unexpected events.
