Hot holiday weather, but also rain chances

    Hi everyone!

This afternoon will be typically hot with breezy southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph. Temperatures will respond, warming into the upper 90’s and low 100’s. Amarillo should top out near 100. Tomorrow and Thursday (Independence Day) will be much the same with humid highs in the 90’s. However, a 30% to 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms will be possible. As of this writing, severe weather should be limited to pulse type storms, and of course, stay weather aware , if a storm is near your location. Lightning is always a concern!

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday look to turn less hot with a chance of showers and thunderstorms each day, and highs in the upper 80’s and low 90’s.

Have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July, everyone!
