An upcoming immersive production will take you on an epic adventure sure to blow your average campfire tales out of the water.

The Amarillo Little Theatre Academy and Sparkman Orthodontics will bring you on a “Killer Quest” this summer with "The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical." The show will be presented July 12-14 and 19-21 at the ALT Adventure Space, located at 2751 Civic Circle.

It’s summer-time at Camp-Halfblood and it’s totally your typical summer camp … or is it? Based on the modern classic young adult novel, this electric tale follows Percy Jackson as he discovers that he is the son of one of the Greek gods. When Zeus’s master lightning bolt is stolen and Percy becomes the prime suspect, he has to find and return the bolt to prove his innocence and prevent a war between the gods.

"The Lightning Thief" features 25 talented Academy students in the cast. The show is directed and choreographed by Academy Director Harrison Stringer, with music direction by Brandon Bellar. Academy alumni Zoë Parrish and Maddox Nite serve as assistant director and production assistant, respectively, and Academy student Cameron Parrack serves as assistant music director. This array of iconic characters is brought to life by Costume Coordinator Hunter Lee, and the scenic design by Tana Roberson will make you feel like you’re back at your favorite summer camp.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, July 12-13 and 19-20, and 2:30 p.m. Sundays, July 14 and 21.
