Amarillo man arrested for 2022 murder

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — An Amarillo man was arrested on July 2 for a murder that happened in August 2022 according to court documents that were filed in Randall County.

Court documents state that Brady Burkett was indicted on a “murder” charge in June.

According to court documents, Burkett was alleged to have compressed the body of a child, Wesson Grist, leading to Grist’s death.

An indictment filed in Randall County also notes that Burkett was convicted for “arson” in Pennsylvania.

Burkett’s bail was set at $750,000 according to a Magistrate’s Warning filed in the 181st District Court.
