MILWUAKEE, Wisconsin (KAMR/KCIT) — Local Republican Delegate Thomas Warren III traveled to the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee to represent Texas District 13.

Warren’s duties include voting to nominate the presidential and vice presidential nominee for the party, as well as attending training sessions and networking with members of the party.

“The rest of the week there is trainings for delegates to learn how to basically be better activists in the community,” explained Warren. “There’s different opportunities to meet people and get to network with other folks from across the country.”

According to Warren the convention also serves as a collaboration between the party as delegates and elected officials shared the priorities and concerns or their constituents.

“A lot of the communities are facing the same things, there’s concerns about inflation, there’s concerns about the economy, about jobs, about crime,” said Warren. “I find it really just fascinating that we all experience the same types of issues, and it’s exciting to get to be in this place together to discuss them and to hear ideas on how to remedy them.”

During night three of the convention speakers include Rep. Ronny Jackson, Gov. Greg Abbott and Vice-Presidential candidate Sen, J.D Vance. Warren shared hearing leaders of the republican party in person is important so delegates can take lessons and values back to their constituents.

“The Republican Party’s growing and growing fast, and we have a lot of people from all over the country who have different perspectives,” said Warren. “You’re seeing that, and the types of folks who are running for office in communities across the country. They’re all bringing different ideas, different perspectives, different backgrounds, to these issues. I think it is making our conversations and our discourse and our debates about these issues much richer.”
