AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Maverick Boys & Girls Club of Amarillo performers from their Performing Arts Summer Camp will be singing the Star-Spangled Banner at the Amarillo Sod Poodles baseball game on July 19 at Hodgetown Stadium.

According to officials with the club, the summer camp was created to inspire and nurture the artistic talents of children in the Amarillo community with over 100 participants engaging in activities like choir, theatre, vocals, and dance.

“We’re incredibly excited for our kids to have this amazing opportunity to sing at a Sod Poodles game,” said Donna Soria, CEO and Executive Director. “It’s a fantastic way for them to share their passion and hard work with the community. This performance is a proud moment for all of us at Maverick Boys & Girls Club.”

Officials noted the performance at the game represents a milestone for the campers and is a testament to the dedication and hard work they have invested in their craft.

Officials also noted that the campers are set to perform at the Boys & Girls Club Regional Conference in Oklahoma City and are looking for community support to make the trip possible.
