    Good Friday afternoon, everyone.

Today is turning out to be seasonably hot with sunshine, and breezy south winds of 15 to 25 mph. Temperatures are responding, warming up into the 90’s across the area. Amarillo should top out near 94. Along with the heat will be our next round of thunderstorms, arriving tonight from the northwest. As of this writing, the storms will be in a diagonal line from southwest to northeast, moving southeast across the Panhandles. The ETA for Amarillo should be around midnight. Lightning, high winds, and heavy downpours will be the main threats with any thunderstorm activity late tonight and early Saturday morning.

Speaking of Saturday morning, daybreak temperatures should hover in the 60’s, followed by a return to the 80’s and low 90’s during the afternoon. Sunday looks to see highs in the 80’s, while Monday, believe it or not, could hold steady in the 70’s and low 80’s. The upper 80’s to mid-90’s look to return from Tuesday forward.

Regarding additional rain chances, scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue in the offing throughout this weekend, and on Monday.

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend, everyone!
