AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine will hold the White Coat Ceremony on Friday at 2:30 p.m.

According to TTUHSC officials, the white coat ceremony will host 182 students making it the largest class ever for the School of Medicine.

TTUHSC medical community will cloak students with their first white coats and will also recite a class-composed version of the ancient Oath of Hippocrates, a pledge to lead lives of compassion, uprightness, and honor, officials said.

Officials also stated students in the medical program complete their first two years of medical school at the Lubbock campus and then transfer to campuses in Amarillo, the Permian Basin or remain in Lubbock for their last two years.

The ceremony will take place at the Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences in Lubbock. The full program will be live-streamed on the official TTUHSC Youtube channel.
