Lainey Wilson Recalls Hilarious Moment When Her Parents Met Miranda Lambert

While spending years trying to gain her footing in the music industry, Lainey Wilson never stopped pursuing a life in the spotlight. And through hard work and a dash of luck, the country singer now sits on top of the genre. Releasing several records over her career on stage, Wilson is on the cusp of her fifth album, Whirlwind. With her stardom taking flight over the last few years, Wilson watched as she rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest names in the industry. And while she might get starstruck, nothing compared to when her parents received the chance to meet Miranda Lambert.

Appearing on Taste of Country Night with Evan Paul, Wilson discussed her newfound fame and her ongoing career in country music. With her father recently dealing with an illness, it appears his health has once again returned. But during their conversation, Wilson shared a hilarious story when her parents met Lambert for the first time. “My daddy, you know, he’ll take a little picture, just to show his buddies back home, I’m like, ‘Can you please not do that, that’s my friend now, they’re gonna get us kicked out of here.'”

Lainey Wilson Reveals Her Celebrity Crushes

While celebrating another year in music as the CMAs, it seemed that Lambert didn’t want the good times to end. Detailing how the interaction happened, Wilson admitted, “Like, Miranda invited us to a party at Casa Rosa, downtown, it was after the CMAs, um, and I remember my daddy like, literally walked in, and he just like, walked up straight to her and hugged her by the neck, and he’s like, ‘Can you get our picture?'”

Going full dad mode, Wilson’s father saw no harm in asking the country singer for a photo. While loving her parents and their reaction to her fame, the singer told her father, “Can you be cool?”

As for Wilson, she also holds a few celebrities in high regard. When asked about her celebrity crushes, the hitmaker pointed to both Matthew McConaughey and Ashton Kutcher. With Wilson continuing to gain fame, it is only a matter of time before she gets the chance to meet the stars.
