On Wednesday, fans looked forward to seeing Rod Stewart take the stage at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Besides wanting to see the singer perform, the night marked a special milestone for the star as it was his 200th show. Having held a residency in Las Vegas for 13 years, Stewart looked to close out his time in Sin City with one last performance. But sadly, that last show will have to wait due to the fact that Stewart fell ill and needed to cancel his show.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Stewart decided to cancel his show, knowing his health would be a factor. He wrote, “I’m desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration. Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long.”

With strep throat causing a bacterial infection in the throat, the infection can cause a person to feel pain due to the soreness. And given that Stewart is a top singer in the music industry, his voice is extremely important. The singer added, “My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused.” It wasn’t all bad news as Stewart revealed, “Thankfully we’ll now be returning in 2025 and I hope to see you all there.”
