Post Malone is seemingly everywhere all at once in 2024. The face-tatted star has been easing fans into his country era by releasing collaborations with artists like Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen. His country debut F-1 Trillion, which hits shelves this Friday (Aug. 16,) features even more duets with Nashville’s hottest names. The “Sunflower” hitmaker also teamed up with two fellow genre-defying stars earlier this year: Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. And Post Malone (real name: Austin Richard Post) says they exposed him to an entirely new stratosphere of fame.

Beyoncé recruited Post Malone for her own foray into country music, March’s Cowboy Carter. The “I Had Some Help” star made an appearance on the steamy “Levii’s Jeans.” Listening to the lyrics, the chemistry between the pair is palpable: Love it when you tease me in them jeans / Girl, you don’t need designer.

The collaboration is all the more impressive knowing that the two have actually never met in person. The “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” singer sent her track with a representative to Post’s personal compound in Utah. Their personal interactions were limited mostly to text messages. “It was terrifying,” Post told The New York Times.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift brought “Fortnight” to the “White Iverson” rapper’s home-base studio in Los Angeles for harmonies. Post Malone peppered in his own freestyled melodies as additional background hooks for the song’s bridge. The melancholy synth-pop number became the lead single from Swift’s wildly-anticipated 11th original studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.
While shooting the music video, Post recalled that Swift had to hide under “an umbrella and drapes over the golf cart so drones and a helicopter couldn’t get footage.”

“I can’t even imagine being at their level — it must suck,” he said.
That’s not to say the 29-year-old GRAMMY nominee is unfamiliar with adversity. When he made his hip-hop debut in 2016, many critics began calling him a “culture vulture.” In a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Post admitted how much that one stung.
“ I absolutely [took it personal,”] he said. “It’s hard not to.”
“But,” he added, “[you don’t make music] for the people who hate you. It’s for the people who love you, and for yourself.”
