Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan have been touring together for the Outlaw Music Festival Tour for a few weeks now, and they just delivered an incredible set at the Gorge Amphitheater in Quincy, Washington.

The Gorge Amphitheater is one of the most stunning venues in the PNW, and it was only appropriate that two of the most iconic singer/songwriters of the 20th century would choose that venue to perform. The pair performed last Saturday to a packed crowd of fans, along with quite a few supporting acts that included Nelson’s son Lukas and the musical stylings of John Mellencamp, among others.

It was a notably hot Saturday evening in Washington, but that didn’t stop the two singers from putting on an incredible show.

What Did Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson Play During Their Gorge Amphitheater Concert?

Some real treats were brought out for each of the legendary folk/country musicians’ sets.

Bob Dylan tends to dish out the greatest hits for his sets. But this time, he opted for some of his more underrated songs. Dylan performed beautiful renditions of “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35”, “Love Sick”, and “Time Out Of Mind”. He poured quite a bit of energy you wouldn’t expect from an 83-year-old performer for “Early Roman Kings,” in which he was accompanied by Lukas Nelson on the guitar. His set went on for 75 minutes and closed with “Ballad Of A Thin Man”.

Willie Nelson’s set was similarly delightful. During the hour-long set, Nelson pulled out quite a few gems. “Always On My Mind”, “Still Is Still Moving To Me”, and “Whiskey River” made an appearance. Nelson also covered Pearl Jam’s “Just Breathe” with the assistance of family band members Lukas and Micah Nelson.

Willie Nelson and his two sons were later joined by Waylon Payne for a rendition of the classic “Good Hearted Woman”. Nelson, his family band, and the whole of the venue (including Nelson’s crew) joined in for a communal rendition of “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys” and “On The Road Again”.

“Here’s a song me and Waylon Jennings wrote one time,” Nelson said before kicking off “Good Hearted Woman”.

Nelson closed out his set by saying that the “life I love is making music with my friends” and that he can’t wait to get on the road again. He really is the kind of artist who will probably tour and perform until the very end, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
