Watch Post Malone Join Vince Gill for a Top-Shelf Cover of “One More Last Chance” at the Grand Ole Opry

Post Malone will release his long-awaited debut country album F-1 Trillion tomorrow (August 16). It isn’t just his first country album. It is also packed with collaborations. So, one could see it as a laundry list of country greats welcoming him to the genre. Last night, Malone made his Grand Ole Opry debut and shared one of country music’s most important stages with a few of its biggest names. Artists like Vince Gill, John Michael Montgomery, and Lainey Wilson were among those who offered Posty a warm welcome to the Circle.

Malone has a history of doing killer country covers with a focus on ‘90s country. For instance, he did one original song during a recent festival appearance and filled the rest of his set with covers. Last night at the Opry, he got the opportunity to sing a couple of cover songs with the original artists. Watch him join Gill for his ‘90s classic “One More Last Chance” below.

Post Malone and Vince Gill Sing a Classic

Vince Gill picked the perfect song to share with Post Malone at the Opry. Malone seems to have a soft spot in his heart for up-tempo honky tonk songs from the ‘90s. So, “One More Last Chance” was well within his wheelhouse.

Gill was performing in bands and as a solo act long before the ‘90s. However, that decade would see him come into his own as an artist and truly find his stride. His 1992 album I Still Believe in You is a great example of that. The album went to No. 3 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and No. 10 on the all-genre album chart. The album was certified 5x Platinum by the RIAA.

I Still Believe in You also produced four No. 1 singles. The title track, “Don’t Let Our Love Start Slippin’ Away,” “One More Last Chance,” and “Tryin’ to Get Over You” all topped the country singles chart.

Gill co-wrote “One More Last Chance” with Gary Nicholson and released it as the fourth single from the album and it became his third chart-topper.
