For over six decades, Mick Jagger toured the world, entertaining fans alongside the Rolling Stones. Throughout the group’s history, Jagger watched as they gained international success and even landed a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jagger was even knighted for his contributions to the music industry. Embracing the lifestyle of a rockstar, the singer is labeled as one of the most influential frontmen in the history of rock. But now, at 81 years old, the singer continues to take the stage. And once speaking about his age, Jagger explained his goals for always wanting to be in the spotlight.

With age comes wisdom, but for rockstars, age can mean the end of the road. Although enjoying the lavish lifestyle of a singer, many performers know the end of their time on stage will eventually come. But for Jagger, he hopes to never see the day where he can’t perform. During his younger years, Jagger sat down for an interview. The interviewer asked the singer if he wanted to continue performing when he reached his 60s. Somewhat taken aback by the question, Jagger explained how he hoped to always perform.

Mick Jagger Talks The Vibe Of Music Over The Years

While moving past the question, Jagger kept his word as decades later, he continues to entertain fans. And as for his health, he proved age is just a number as he danced around the stage.

Given his rich history in music, Jagger watched as the industry and fans changed over the decades. When taking a trip back to the 60s, the singer explained how the past differed from the present. While fans continue to love the music from the Rolling Stones, Jagger missed his young age. “You were younger and more crazy, more excited. And you were new. You weren’t like treated like legends and all this. But you’re the same person doing the same thing, even doing some of the same songs, so in some ways, it’s the same.”

While acknowledging the world changed around him, Jagger insisted, “It’s a different time in the world, so there’s a different vibe. It’s the same, but only different.”
